I used to work in a mental health unit, I had to work with people who had a condition called Korsakoff Syndrome, where they had litterally had so much alcohol and or drugs that they had fallen into comas, then woken up with severe brain damage. The least that could happen to you if you did this would be short term memory loss, the inability to form any new memories, make any new friends or pay attention to anything longer than 10 minutes. The worst that could happen is loss of basic motor finctions, paralasis and eventually death. Bad news I'm afraid

i think you should not let it take over you .
cant you take it in small doses you know its having a bad effect on you .
its not going to be you falling apart its your insides
not to mention the hell your family will go through if you end up in rehab or a mental hospital

I know someone who was addicted to valium for years. It was really difficult to come off of and she nearly fell apart emotionally. It can be very dangerous to come off of valium 'cold turkey' and should be done under a doctors care or in a hospital. It can be done, as hard as it is. Good luck.

I know someone personally who has been addicted to heroin and crack for about that long.
Ive seen him act impulsive, insane and psychotic, which got progressively worse since that year I knew him.
He started acting so bad around me, that I couldn't take it anymore – and I finally left. I was an addict too.
He also boo-boo'd on his self. But he couldnt help that.
