Sciatica, tramadol injection worked on back but can't stand or walk for more than 5 minutes?

I had a bad case of sciatica for which I was given a double does injection of Tramadol on this past Wed. I was also put on gabapentin 300mg 3x a day and celebrex 200mg 1x a day and additional oral tramadol 50mg 1 or 2 tabs every 6 to 8 hours a day.Everything has worked great no longer have pain in my lower back or right buttock however the pain is still in my right thigh and right calf all on the backsides. I only can walk or stand for abou 5 minutes before the pain is so bad I have to o lay down on my left side with my legs slightly bent to find any relief.

I have a horrible burning and pins and needles feeling and it seems to feel numb and cold like the blood has stopped flowing in my leg. The doctor said he didn't feel sspasms at my appointment even though I ad and I thought I needed a muscle relaxer. I'm desperate for some help, I'm moving in the next week or so and this is even affecting how much time I can play with my 2year old girl and that's not acceptable to me.

can anyone help

I work in physical therapy and also you sound fairly young. I am surprised your doctor would put you on Celebrex at your age. You need to get an MRI, go see a neurologist at this point. You have symptoms of nerve root compression and the MRI will rule out bulging or herniations in your discs. Medications are only masking your symptoms and will not relieve the compression. Your sacrum/pelvis is most likely out of alignment and it would be wise of your doctor to send you to a good manual physical therapist to be evaluated. In the meantime do not bend or lift.

I would ask for lidoderm. Its a patch containing lidocaine, the same chmical used in the dentist. You can cut the patches and use them on several areas and they are very effective at numbing an area of the body for up to 8-12 hours. I have Hereditary Spastic Paraperisis which consist of muscle spasm

Michelle, try this to see if it doesn't reduce your complaints. Sit in a straight chair with the thighs parallel to the floor and your feet flat on the floor. Twist as far to one side as you can and then to the other. One side or the other is going to move further than the other even if it is only by a slight amount. Start with the side that moves further. Twist as hard and as far to that side as possible for fifteen seconds and relax for thirty seconds. Repeat that sequence twice more always pushing as hard and far as possible for the fifteen seconds. Once that has been done now do it in the opposite direction. Turn as far and hard as you can for fifteen seconds and relax for thirty. Do that twice more and rest. Stand up and walk around and try to move in a way that was restricted before. You should be able to move further and with more comfort. Sit down again and this time raise one arm up past your head and note how far it elevates. Do the opposite arm and whichever arm goes up further use that as the starting point. Raise that arm up as high and hard as you can for fifteen seconds and relax for thirty. Do this twice more and then switch to the opposite arm. Raise that arm up as high and hard as you can for fifteen seconds and rest for the thirty seconds. Repeat that cycle twice more. Now get up again and move around. You should notice more mobility and less pain. Continue with those movements until there is no further restrictions or pain. See a physical therapist for further exercises to strenghten your body and improve posture. Use ice on the area for pain for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour as needed.
