Valium through airport customs possible or not?
im going on holiday this july and have to take 2 flights to get there,
the problem is i cannot stand flying and go mental the only thing that calms me is valium
i would like to take 2 pills with me but could i get them through airport customs without getting noticed or getting into trouble, as i dont have a prescription could i sneak 2 pills and get away with it
I would only worry about quantities of medication requiring bottles. These should be carried by prescription. There is nothing to stop you putting the tablets in your pocket as you yourself are not X-rayed, just asked to pass through the metal detector.
When all is said and done, what member of the security staff would be able to identify the tablets as valium
You're taking a risk as Valium is a controlled substance internationally. If you have brand name Valium then almost anyone can identify these pretty easily! The big cut-out V is a hint. With generics it's less likely, but whose to say they're just going to let you continue on your way without trying to identify the drug. A quick Internet search for drug imprints reveals what drugs are in a matter of minutes. Try to see a doctor as you can easily get a prescription for Valium or another anxiolytic based on your symptoms. If you don't have time now, then at least consider that in the future. Better safe than sorry. <3
Although antihistamines have a different mechanism of action compared to benzodiazepines like Valium, some are used off label to combat anxiety. Doxylamine succinate is an over-the-counter sleep aid which is sometimes used off label for this. You may want to look into that too as it is much safer than Valium.
They require that you have a prescription bottle with your name on it for meds.
However, unless you run into a completely anal TSA agent, you could put them in a vitamin bottle or pill pack.
